The evolution of the spectral and structural characteristics of La-=SUB=-0.98-x-=/SUB=-Lu-=SUB=-x-=/SUB=-Eu-=SUB=-0.02-=/SUB=-BO-=SUB=-3-=/SUB=- orthoborates

The structure, IR absorption, luminescence, and luminescence excitation spectra of La 0.98-x Lu x Eu 0.02 BO 3 orthoborates synthesized at 970 o C were studied 0≤ x≤0.98. An increase in leads to a sequential change the structural state orthoborates. At first, compound has aragonite structure. Then, it becomes two-phase contains vaterite phases. With further x, compounds have then calcite and, finally, Correspondence between structure spectral characteristics these was established. Luminescence investigated different wavelengths exciting light. This allowed obtaining information on near-surface layer bulk microcrystals samples.
